Water Heater
Water heaters are essential to our everyday way of life in all we do. Whether we are at home, office or any place of business in Omaha, water heater installation, and services are an inevitable part of building maintenance. Which water heater is needed makes a difference. The size and type of water heater is based on many factors. Upfront cost, monthly cost, maintenance, sizing, accessibility, & space availability are just a few.
Tank water heater
Tank water heaters come in electric or gas and in multiple sizes, 40, 50, 75 gallons, and larger depending on application. Water Heaters also may be installed in series meaning 2 heaters next to each other. With gas heaters, there are different sizes of BTU output. When you are comparing be sure to do an apple-to-apple comparison. Tank “traditional” water heaters normally have a lifespan of 8-10 years. If you are beyond that, good for you. Pay close attention to any change in water temperature or amount of available hot water at any given time. These are all signs of the fleeting life of a traditional water heater.
Expansion Tank
Tank water heaters may need an expansion tank. This is sometimes required with water heater installation in Omaha properties due to factors, such as water pressure. It may be suggested to install an expansion tank. This tank is separate from the water heater, it is used to absorb the pressure variance that occurs when water is heated. Think of this as an extra insurance policy on your water heater. Verses, not installing an expansion tank and the water heater tank having too much pressure in it, resulting in splitting/rupturing open and releasing of the stored water. The expansion tank absorbs the pressure thus assisting in controlling the pressure in the water heater.
Tankless water heater
Think continuous hot water. That is what you get with a tankless heater. These water heaters are great for homes, condos, restaurants, & apartments. They are smaller and can meet many of your needs. This heater is a space saver and can be ideal if you are a traveler as it does not store water. When installing tankless water heaters on your Omaha property, be mindful that this type of heater does cost more upfront but can save money in some situations.
